CALVARY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL of NEWARK
Doctrinal Statement
- We believe that the Bible was written under
God's direction so that we have today a perfect
statement of what God wants us to know about
Him and how we are to live.
- We believe that there is one God, eternally
in existence in three persons: Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit. These three are equal in authority
and power.
- We believe that God created all things in
heaven and in earth, and is therefore the Master
of the Universe.
- We believe that humans were created to
have fellowship with God, but because of our
stubborn self-will, which the Bible calls sin, we
chose to go our own independent way; thus we
broke fellowship with God, condemning
ourselves to eternal separation from Him.
- We believe that Jesus Christ is truly God
and truly man. He lived a sinless life, died as a
substitute for the punishment of our rebellion
against God, and physically rose again from the
dead in order to make it possible for humans to
return to fellowship with God.
- We believe that the work of Christ makes it
possible for us to realize sinfulness and to
entrust our lives and eternal destiny to Christ,
resulting in renewed fellowship with God. This is
a free gift from God and not the result of human
efforts.
- We believe that God the Holy Spirit lives
within everyone who has entrusted their life to
God, enabling that person to discover the
wonderful plan that God has for their life. It is by
the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives that we
can overcome the temptations of Satan, the
World, and our Flesh.
- We believe that Jesus Christ will be coming
back again to Earth to receive His believers, and
to finally judge the world.
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers
in Christ.
